For my thesis, I tried to find a relationship between Korea and America. Also, I considered about influences on the world because people or a world can be changed by surrounding circumstances. Thus, two ideas came up with a topic, the influences of Korean War on the Korean economical development. In the present, Korea is one of hugely economically grown countries. To be the present, Korean War was one of triggers that help a huge growth of economics in Korea. Therefore, I brought up my thesis, Korean War destroyed most of all the regions in Korea, but Korean War is valuable to have happened because the war became a seed that planted Korean economical development. Most people, even Korean people, believed that Korean War gave only huge harmful effects on every parts of Korea. However, I wanted to break this misconception because I believed that most of materials in the world have both advantages and disadvantages. Thus, those people only saw negative sides of Korean War. Eventually, advantages were also included in Korean War, which is a trigger of Korean economical growth. After the war, nobody can find any hope in Korea because most of towns were destroyed and a number of people died because of the war. However, one Korean president, Park Jung-Hee, brought some projects for economics in Korea. It can be compared with American president Roosevelt’s New Deal projects. President Park’s projects were successfully accomplished and inspired Korean citizens to put efforts on growing the Korean economics. Later, other foreign countries found that Korean economics grew up very fast and called a process of economical success in Korea, “the Miracle of the Han River.” I also wanted to show an idea related to economics, “If Korean War did not happen.” Thus, a value of Korean War for economical growth can be shown in my thesis.
