http://www.amazon.com/Nativity-Julie-Vivas/dp/0152001174 The Nativity by Julie Vivas is my favorite children's book for Christmas. Simple pictures along with the biblical narrative give insight into the reality of Mary and Joseph's situation. A must read that you can get from your local library!
And this one, which has incredible illustrations. The nativity story happens in the background, behind the "real" story about a baby donkey. It's fun to watch your kids figure out what's happening as they realize that the Christmas story is quietly unfolding at the same time. Worth reading just for the illustrations alone!

We love the one by Wildsmith as well. I have not seen the one by Vivas and can't see much more than the cover online but look forward to see it. Thanks for sharing these! Feel free to post recommendations on the main blog or forums (from the front page) so that they are more visible and easy to share on facebook.
