Student Summary:
Video game developers are taking their work seriously and seeking to stretch the boundaries of what a video game can be. There should be a case made that interactive games are becoming, if they are not already, an art form. Many of the different aspects of games can be found in other respected forms of art such as literature and film. What makes games unique is their interactivity. Video games’ interactivity can cause the player to experience narratives and characters in new and powerful ways. Provoking and challenging themes in video games push the limits for video games to work their way towards fine art.
