Leisure: the Basis of Culture by Josef Pieper (1952)

Teachers are contemplating how a biblical understanding of leisure (and the liberal arts) should impact our school life and our guidance of students in their studies. As we continue this, here is a collection of short passages from a classic essay on the topic:

"But the Gods, taking pity on mankind, born to work, laid down the succession of recurring Feasts to…

Hi Jesse, I was trying to find out how to leave a comment for you and the first route I took said I had to be your "friend" to leave a message. I think I found a way around that eventually -- by the way, I was trying to find the audio collection to listen to "Dumb and Dumber" and still haven't found it. I agree, there's no need for a "friend":feature and if it could be disabled rather than telling people you have to be a "friend" that would solve the problem.

Haha I had never read that before, but I went to one of their games after the first day of school. They scored 4 goals that game, and they sang the song everytime. I was immediatly hooked and sort of made it the 2011 falcons theme song. We are always singing it and yelling it after we score, and we also occasionally blast it in the vans to pump us up before a game!
