Pedagogy is educational jargon. The term gets used in a variety of contexts with a variety of meanings, many of which are likely contradictory. Yet it may be acceptable that pedagogy be defined in different ways depending upon the context. Let’s see if we can discover one, or a few, of the meanings that we wish to be clear about as we use the word pedagogy as classical educators, shall we?

So, what do we mean when we say pedagogy?

I think “pedagogy” is the method to the madness. Most of us are new to classical Christian education, so we are all seeking to establish some useful forms of application in order to train our students properly. When I think of useful tools, I think of “The Seven Laws of Teaching” by Gregory, for example. In cCe most of us have caught the vision but are still perfecting our pedagogical understand of how to actually apply the vision to the classroom.
