Write a 250-300 word response (in a Word document) to one of the following questions:

1)  Both Wordsworth and Coleridge discuss pleasure as an end of poetry. What kind of pleasure is appropriate to a poem? In what way are Coleridge and Wordsworth justified in their yoking of pleasure and truth?

2) How should one view Wordsworth and Coleridge descriptions of poetic language and poets in relationship to classical education?

3) How might Wimsatt’s formulation of “the concrete universal” help students cultivate an aesthetic appreciation for good poetry?
