Brief Bio

I was born and raised in Colorado, studied in Chicago, and spent my early teaching years in Jerusalem. I have been part of cross-cultural education in several contexts.

I currently live with my husband and 4 children on the Japanese island of Kyushu. With a team I have founded a small bilingual school that is pioneering elementary and middle-school education in our city or Oita that is both globally and locally minded, both traditionalist and looking to the future.
Teaching Interests

I am interested in the power of story in the classroom and later in life. I am interested in the role of nature in education, as well as a healthy relationship with technology. I believe learning should be fun.
